Meeting Today

This is a reminder that we meet again tonight, Monday January 22nd at 7:00pm.

Good news for the fashion conscious: We have received a shipment of official Drinking Liberally buttons from the mother ship. Be among the first dozen to show up and get the only accessory that goes with everything from business formal to orange jump suits and says, "I'm not only a proud liberal, but I'm not afraid to drink to it!"

Inauguration

We finally did it. Ogden drank liberally last night at the City Club. A good time was had by all and we would like to give a special thanks to those who participated. We envision a strong and vibrant chapter in this town.

The evening was highlighted by the arrival of Heather and Jeremiah from the Salt Lake City chapter who, in addition to bringing with them the wisdom and experience of having taken their membership from 6 to over 300, came bearing gifts of a material nature. DL Ogden was presented with a banner with the Drinking Liberally logo to be displayed on our meeting nights. We sincerely appreciate their sponsorship and support.

Our invitation to drink liberally remains open to all like-minded individuals seeking to commune among their kind. We know you are out there. You now know where to find us.

History Repeats Itself

Less than a week after "Dear Leader" announced he was escalating the war in Iraq (which oddly comes nearly four years after he declared victory there) we can look to a 1967 speech on Viet Nam by Martin Luther King Jr. for inspiration.

It is a lengthy read but well worth it. Substitute "Iraq" for "Viet Nam" and you will find some eerie coincidences.

Tonight's meeting of Drinking Liberally Ogden has been rescheduled for next Monday January 15th at 7:00pm due to a conflict with the NCAAF National Championship.

On this day...

The first ever gathering of Drinking Liberally Ogden takes place at The City Club on historic 25th street.

It will be an informal gathering - no reading of minutes, no hierarchy, no Robert's Rules of Order. This is a regularly scheduled social event where liberals may simply hoist a pint among their kind.

We look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
